A Message from Our President & CEO, Stacey Hengsterman

Happy September, friends!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed the summer and are looking forward to another school year as well as the fall sports season.

Like our thousands of fall sports coaches and athletes throughout the state, I’m getting my Unified bocce team ready for regional competition this week. We’re headed to Rome, NY Saturday for the largest bocce regional of the season, where more than 200 athletes and Unified partners will go for the gold.

Throughout August, September, and October, Special Olympics New York hosts about 30 regional competitions for nearly 3,000 fall season athletes with and without disabilities. At the same time, we host more than a dozen fundraising events that directly support these opportunities, making it possible for our athletes to be the champions they are destined to be.

There is no better time to get involved in this life-changing movement. State Fall Games and Polar Plunge season are just around the corner!

See you soon.

- Stacey
