It's that time again - time to be "Freezin' for a Reason"!

On Saturday, March 11th, 2023, I will plunge in the icy cold waters at Beach 94th Street, Rockaway Beach to raise money to support the amazing programs of Special Olympics New York. -- I can't believe this will be my 8th year plunging for Special Olympics!!

Through Special Olympics New York, athletes with intellectual disabilities (a.k.a., intellectual differences) have the opportunity to challenge themselves in fair and even competition. Win or lose, they develop their own character, make friends and find unknown wells of determination within themselves.

Founded in 1968, Special Olympics New York currently serves more than 31,000 athletes throughout the state. They are supported by more than 5,000 certified coaches and 4,300 volunteers. Special Olympics New York offers 24 Olympic-style sports and three seasons of competition. Athletes train for weeks and months to prepare to compete. They are never charged to participate in these amazing programs.

The money raised from this event ensures these athletes have access to the equipment and training they depend on. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible.
