Welcome to my fundraising page for Special Olympics NY!

When I said I wanted to do the polar plunge everyone thought I had lost my mind. Doing it just for myself probably would have put me back in the "maybe someday" category but come March 2017 I was Freezin' for a Reason! March 2023 I will be  taking the plunge again to raise funds for Special Olympics NY! 

You all know how important inclusion is to me and Special Olympics is just one avenue to help achieve that. It's not just about the games, did you know that Special Olympics is also a global health organization dedicated to serving people with disabilities? Think about it. I've seen people with disabilities excluded or ignored in daily life, what makes you think that doesn't happen when they need to go to the doctor? Or maybe they are unable to explain just how they are feeling using the terms the medical professionals understand. With the Healthy Communities program the participants are given health screenings and possible referrals while being treated with acceptance, dignity and respect. Who wouldn't want an experience like that?
