I’ve been selected to represent New York as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota. As part of this effort, I will be running with the Flame of Hope from New York to Minnesota and into the Opening Ceremony of the Games.
As I prepare for the Final Leg and the miles ahead on the torch run itself, my goal is to run 200 miles. I am seeking sponsors at $50 per mile to help support those miles so participation costs can be covered through fundraising rather than drawing from resources meant for Special Olympics athletes and programs.
The Final Leg is a national team of law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes who carry the Flame of Hope across communities before delivering it into the Opening Ceremony of the USA Games. Along the way, the team helps raise awareness for the athletes and for the mission of Special Olympics.
I became involved with the Law Enforcement Torch Run in 2014 after my first Polar Plunge in Ithaca, and what started as a single event quickly turned into one of the most meaningful parts of my career. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of supporting athletes through Torch Runs, fundraisers, Unified sports, and State Games events across New York. Being selected for the Final Leg is an incredible opportunity to continue that support on a national stage.
Thank you for helping me carry the Flame of Hope!
