My name is Brett Geiger and I am a Special Olympics New York Athlete. I have been playing golf for as long as I can remember but have been competing in the sport since 2016 with Special Olympics New York. Each season, I’d submit my three best scores, with dreams of one day being selected for USA Games.
In 2021 I was selected to represent Team NY at the 2022 USA Games in Orlando, Florida. I could not tell you how excited I was to represent not only the Long Island Region, but the whole state of New York. It was a dream come true to play at Orange County National, and I am beyond proud to say that after four intense rounds against two incredible athletes from Florida, I took home the silver medal.
Now I’m thrilled to represent Team NY. This time I will be the state’s only 18-hole individual golfer—for the 2026 USA Games this June at the University of Minnesota.
