The Polar Plunge is more than just a chilly challenge for me - it?s personal. I first participated years ago in Vermont through a close friend whose sister has Down syndrome. After my son Dylan was born with Down syndrome, I knew I wanted to continue that tradition here in our community to support Special Olympics.
Over the past two years, our Miller Time team has raised more than $24,000 - $10,805 in 2023 and $13,577 in 2024 - for this amazing organization. Every dollar helps create opportunities and joy for people like Dylan through Special Olympics NY (Central Region: Cayuga, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego). It costs about $500/year/athlete.
It?s been incredible to see friends, family, and coworkers come together for such a meaningful cause. The energy, laughter, and community pride make it one of the best experiences of the year, and the warmth you feel from giving back lasts long after you?ve dried off.
I?m proud to take the plunge again this year and would love your support. Every donation, big or small, helps provide training, activities, and competitions for Special Olympics athletes at no cost to them or their families.
