Help me reach my fundraising goal of at least $125 as I take the plunge for Special Olympics NY. Your donations mean more now than ever before.
Your support directly helps athletes participate in trainings, activities, and competitions at no cost to them or their caregivers.
This year, I finally said yes to a bucket-list challenge: the 2025 Buffalo Polar Plunge. I’ve watched people do it on the news for years and—against all logic—thought, that actually looks fun.
PLOT TWIST: Being cold isn't my thing.
I’m challenging myself to embrace Buffalo winter!
Event Details:
Thursday, December 4th, 2025
Registration: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Plunge: 4:00 PM
Woodlawn Beach State Park, 3580 Lake Shore Road, Blasdell, NY 14219
Spectators are welcome!
Spectators can stand along the outside perimeter of the fence line to be part of and watch the Plunge Parade. This is the long, steady stream of plungers and teams making their way down the beach and into the water—a moving line of costumes, brave souls, and people loudly questioning their decisions.
Spectators can’t enter the beach itself, but they get a great view as we walk in, plunge, and sprint back out. Perfect for photos, videos, and laughs.
For plungers who need photographic proof (me… I know how you all are), the event recommends bringing a waterproof camera and asking a fellow plunger to grab the shot.
If anyone has a waterproof camera I can borrow, please let me know — looking forward to showing my Polar Plunge receipts!
To participate, I’m required to raise at least $125, which gets me into the water and scores the official 2025 Plunge hoodie.
And because I like to make things interesting (and can’t resist a dare)...
$125: I’ll run in and go knee-deep.
❄ $500: I’ll go in up to my waist and let out a fearless Buffalo yell.
$1,000: I’ll go all the way under — full head dunk. Zero hesitation.
If you want to witness me questioning all my life choices in real time, this is your moment.
Thank you for helping me freeze for a fantastic cause!
