Gather your family, grab your friends, double-dare your co-workers and start a Polar Plunge Team! You can also join us as an individual if you like, just be ready to get wet!

Collect donations to help sponsor your plunge in support of local Special Olympics New York athletes. Every dollar donated makes a difference!

2026 Details and Dates:

  • To participate in the Canandaigua Polar Plunge, each plunger is asked to raise $100 and will receive the official 2026 Plunge sweatshirt the day of the Polar Plunge.
  • Be a hero and raise $1,000 by Monday, February 16, 2026 to sponsor local Special Olympic athletes—including a State Game experience. Your name will go on the back of the Polar Plunge sweatshirt.
  • Be a banner team! This year, the TOP 10 FUNDRAISING teams will receive a team banner on the day of the Canandaigua Polar Plunge.

Special Olympics New York provides inclusive opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities,who compete in Olympic-style, coached sports at no cost to our athletes, their families or caregivers.
